I’m still working on those spiral pieces for a mandala, but it’s going slow because I get fatigued easily. I hate fibromyalgia. But anyway, here’s where I’m at:
Well, it was bound to happen, wasn’t it? My son left a pen in his pant’s pocket and it got washed, and dried. I really SHOULD have taken photos of the dryer drum afterwards. Black ink EVERYWHERE! And it’s a NEW dryer, too. 😦
One load of towels later, there’s only a little bit of ink left over in the dryer, but it was still beyond aggravating!
In quilting news, I’ve finished binding the Quilt of Valor I’ve been working so hard on. I also got it labeled. I have one other Quilt of Valor I have put the binding on (but no label yet). This has my quilt load for the year at 5 finished quilts (if we don’t count labeling, and we count wall hanging quilts). My next quilt up is also a Quilt of Valor. 😉 That will finish that stack of UFO quilts (Un-Finished Object).
I can’t wait to show you the quilts I’ve finished this year so far! I think if tomorrow is clear, I’ll go take the photos to show them off to you all!
Tonight’s a quiet night, with a movie on in the living room. I just finished quilting another quilt, pictures will have to wait. I’ve got binding now on two quilts to finish (the one I’ve been slowly trudging along with, and the one I just got done quilting) before I can respectfully pick up another UFO (Un-Finished Object) and work on it. Three Quilts of Valor will be done by Mother’s Day (that’s my goal, at least).
I’ll do a mini-quilt for the living room hanger, but I’m not sure what design I’ll do for the next one. I’ve got an idea for St. Patrick’s Day, but not Mardi Gras. Valentine’s is hanging up right now, although the weather is getting cold enough some days I want to put my snowman one back up!
Learning to quilt and sew in a much smaller space has me appreciating what I had before, although I’ve been feeling more productive in the smaller space. I got help with rolling my quilt layers on rods so I could sandwich it in the living room (only room large enough) and my help didn’t complain the time or two I almost hit him with the rods while working with the safety pins.
I have a goal. I need to get at LEAST one more artistic piece done in the next couple of weeks. It’s tough to think when you have that kind of pressure. I’m certain I can do it though. Keep me in your thoughts so I can get moving on it soon. Thanks!
Don’t forget that I have http://www.patreon.com/thesiberianwind set up!
I could use a few more supporters. My patrons get up-close views as to what exactly is going on with my quilting, versus just getting cool pics of what I’m working on. Today’s pic is one of the ones I just explained in detail, as an example. Feast your eyes on the pretty gold, red, and brown you see here, but know you could get the full story by supporting me!
